Strategic Communications Intern – Public Affairs, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

consistent, coordinated and targeted way.
As part of the Public Affairs team, the Strategic Communications Intern will play a significant role in the
development and implementation of strategic communications and public relations activities at the
university level.
Primary Duties:
● Research, write stories and generate web content for internal and external audiences
● Interview faculty, students, staff and alumni to capture their Illinois experience from a personal
perspective
● Collect, compile and evaluate content analytics to provide insights
● Proofread communications and messages
Preferred Skills:
● Excellent writing and editing skills
● Interest in data visualization and/or experience with Excel and Google Sheets
● Organized and able to work independently
● Strong communication skills as well as broad, general knowledge of the Urbana-Champaign
campus academic and administrative structure
Schedule and hours:
This is a paid position beginning Summer 2022 at 20 hours each week, with a possibility of starting
earlier.
