From an email to the HPRC after the LAS & ACES Virtual Career Fair, Fall 2020:
…a common skill that humanities majors possess is the ability to build relationships. Hearing what’s both said and not said in a conversation. Great for sales, when it comes to interacting with people. We have quite a few Humanities majors working for us around the country and they’re a great fit for the position. With that said, let me give a brief introduction about Buckeye International Inc. and our Sales Management Program.
Buckeye International Inc.(is an essential industry company that is helping facilities and communities during this COVID-19 pandemic. At healthcare facilities, we keep employees, patients, and visitors safe and healthy with our FDA approved hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and a registered e.p.a. antimicrobial floor finish. We’ve been a nationally branded manufacture and distributor since 1844, and have 27 offices around the county that sell our products directly to institutions like hospitals universities, school districts, grocery chains, etc.. Our Sales Management Program is designed for recent college graduates to grow their career. It initially starts out as three outside B2B* sales positions and then transitions in specific management positions. Since no one has any professional B2B outside sales experience, we have a comprehensive training program for recent college grads. Once in the program, we offer multiple opportunities for advancement given our 100% promotions from with the program.
*B2B = “business to business” (selling to a company, rather than individual consumers)
